Happy New Year everyone!
I am back at the Kelley's house. It is 12:50 a.m. January 1st, 2009! After leaving the hospital, running by Wal-mart, and going by the all-night church lock-in, I'm doing one last blog before I hit the hay...
Tim is doing very well. He is awake, alert, and asking questions. He wanted me to tell you all thanks for all the prayers and the support you have given. He was touched to hear of the many friends and family that were there to support him. He will probably be transferred to his own room tomorrow, out of ICU. He now has his own "heart" pillow for a souvenier. : )
I'll add more tomorrow, when I'm a little more coherent. I'm headed off now to get some much wanted/needed rest!

Looking good!
It's 4:18 p.m. We were able to go in and see him at about 1:00 p.m. He looked very good, hardly any swelling existed like they warned could happen. Let me reiterate that on bypass surgeries they have to hook the patient up to a heart machine in a lot of cases and his heart beated on its own the entire time.....no machines! Amazing! Anyway, he looked like he was totally asleep, but when different ones visited him and talked to him, he could hear....gave a thumbs up one time....tried to move his mouth a little....but he'll still be in ICU for up to a total of around 16 hours. But...God is good and many prayers have gone up! Thanks, everyone!
ICU Visiting hours are from:
6-6:15 a.m.
8-9 a.m.
12:30-1:00 p.m.
3-4 p.m.
5-5:30 p.m.
8-9 p.m.
After grabbing lunch today @ Logan's Roadhouse, we arrived back for the 3-4 p.m. visiting time. However, there was another patient coming in from surgery that they were dealing with, so they canceled that visiting time and no one was allowed in to see him. We are waiting around for the 5 o'clock time. Meanwhile, different ones are running errands and grabbing naps. It's been a long day, but we are all thankful. Til next time! God bless y'all!

We're very excited that he went through the surgery with a beating heart on his own. He will be in ICU recovery for about 1 or 1 1/2 hours, then the family will be allowed in to see him. There are many of us hanging out in the surgery waiting room and having a little fellowship. Friends and family and church family from all over....what great support! Once again, thank you so much. If you are one of the ones able to make it up to the hospital, please sign his book so he can enjoy the memories later......while he's laying in his recliner, in sheer boredom, driving his family crazy! LOL.
He's Out!
At 10:53 a.m., surgery is completed. A triple bypass completed with no machines needed to keep his heart beating. The surgery went great. Dana and the kids and his parents are now having a consultation with the doctor. I'll add more when I hear from them.
quick update
Just talked to Lauren. Tim was supposed to be at the hospital at 5:15 but everyone was so tired, they overslept....his dad woke them up knocking on the door....left at 5 a.m. with flashers on. They took him in as soon as they could and surgery started at 8:15. Still waiting. Covet your prayers. Not sure they have internet access at the hospital so updates may be slow until he is out of surgery.
It's 8:20 a.m. and all I know at this point is that he was scheduled to have surgery at 7 a.m. I hope there is internet access somewhere around there when I arrive. I am running errands for Dana and doing last minute stuff before I head over there. I am bringing the kids and didn't think it was a good idea to take them at 4:30 this morning. My husband is driving Lauren's car over there to get her stereo installed from a prior appointment and then we will be heading to the waiting room to find out any news. I'll update as I'm able. Thanks for your prayers.

Preparing?
Okay, it's 10:33 p.m. and the soon to be heart patient is still up and ticking.....he hasn't packed yet and just had a nighttime snack of chips and salsa...yay! He has read some of your comments and is touched by your concern. Thanks again for all your support!
Send Support via mail/email
For those of you wishing to show your support, please send emails to: TRKelley01@aol.com or you can snail mail to: Rev. & Mrs. T. R. Kelley, PO Box 613, Oakdale, La. 71463. Thanks for all the support you all have already given...it's great to see how many friends there are out there!
Waiting...
After finding out the news that my brother in law has blocked arteries, we are in Oakdale, La. waiting until Wednesday, Dec. 31st, when he will have by-pass surgery. He has to be at the hospital at 5:15 a.m. and surgery will be at 7 a.m. What a way to start the new year, being waited on hand and foot (by all those nurses...)
